Tapia and Ayala garnered kudos from a fellow officer for going the extra mile when asked to transport a minor who was a high flight risk from juvenile hall to a foster home placement.
“Much thanks to your outstanding officers Tapia and Ayala for their assistance and a job well done. They patiently hung around longer than expected due to the foster mother’s emergency dental appointment. I wanted them to know much I appreciate what they do.”
The Department received a heartfelt letter from a struggling mom.
“I want to personally thank each and everyone that has helped me to maintain a quality home and life for me and my children. If I didn’t have this program my children and I would probably be homeless and suffering a very hard life. I know that I am only one mother and I might not matter to many but this program and department has really helped. Thank you to each person who cares for families like mine.”
Pullin “is the kind of quality individual that you can be proud to have representing San Diego County.”
“It gives me great pleasure to compliment a member of your staff who provided outstanding professionalism and was willing and able to listen and address an issue with my property. Ms. Pullin was very sensitive to my concerns and needs and rapidly gained my trust and respect. She is to be commended for her commitment to our county.”
Northam “was more than professional!”
“Humor is very important when you are in ‘new waters’ – I never needed help before and he made it easier and enjoyable to the extent that it could be. I want to thank him for the excellent job that he did.”
Matias “went out of her way to help me with my problems.”
“She was very helpful – I was the last client of the day and she took her time to help me. Wish everyone could be like her.”
“Antoinette was nice, sweet, knowledgeable, courteous and helpful.”
Vizzier, Sedghi and Wirschem “did an excellent job at the Pharmacy Waste Training Workshop.”
“It was very informative and gave the audience every perspective of this complicated waste stream and provided exceptional presentations from outstanding professionals. I am looking forward to the workshop in 2011!”
The department received a letter of appreciation from a parent for “helping us live a little easier in the difficult situation which we face daily.”
“My son has been with Children’s Services in East County for the past 10 years. I would like to thank you for all that you do for us. I could not survive without the help his therapist. I have been helped with so many issues over the years. I just want you to know that with all the cuts and with facilities losing my respect due to customer service issues, Children’s Services has not (compromised) in the care of their patients.”
Heredia was acknowledged by a toxicologist from the Department of Pesticide Regulation for “a job well done.”
“Agricultural Inspector Veronica Anzaldo Heredia went beyond the call of duty in this case, tactfully but resolutely educating an entire school district about their responsibilities to their employees. We are grateful when investigators take the extra effort to not only gather the details, but to educate the public whenever possible.”
Stefano and Olson saved the day for an agent who was at his “wit’s end” because of property tax records which stated incorrect zoning and land use.
“Staci Stefano knew and understood the situation and I did not need to repeat it. She gave me her direct number and told me I would be contacted shortly. Within the hour, Jeff Olson called me. He was able to make the changes and generate a letter which could be forwarded to the appraiser. Start to finish, under two hours. It worked and the sale will close escrow today. Absolutely unbelievable - the level of service is superb.”
They received a letter of appreciation from a Deputy Probation Officer for their help with a rough situation in the East County.
“Thank you for sending your wonderful staff to assist us today with the animals. It was a hard task as there were about 18 dogs in the house, several which needed medical attention and a couple of them which were very aggressive. Your staff was very professional in dealing with the animals, Probation and Sheriff Staff. All Officers represented your organization professionally and served their mission by protecting the community, and of course, the animals. Kudos to all of the officers involved.'
Barraza is “wise, kind, understanding and very professional.”
“I am totally elated and thankful for having you as my Section 8 worker. You make decisions that change people’s lives. It’s the most wonderful feeling to know that I don’t have to spend the rest of my life alone and you made that possible. I can’t find the words to tell you how grateful I am.”
Zimmerman “has been extremely helpful and amazingly responsive in working with me to get a fair and equitable assessment value for my home”
“Ms. Zimmerman took the time to explain the appeal process to me and she has gone above and beyond my expectations. I really appreciate her pleasant demeanor and knowledge. I hope that all of your employees live up to her high standards.”
Juarez received a touching letter of gratitude from the father and grandfather in one of his custody cases.
“…when Ryder (4 yr. old) is old enough to understand we will share many stories with him about John Juarez and how much you helped him.”
“As we discussed, you likely see things on a daily basis that many of us won’t experience in a lifetime. Your role is such a critical one in today’s society and you should be extremely proud of the job you hold and the job you did in Ryder’s case. The job you have and the manner in which you do it positively impacts lives in ways you may not even completely appreciate.”
Ingram “is a valuable asset to this County and my community.”
“Ms. Ingram helped calm my anxieties about your program. She made me feel comfortable in an uncomfortable situation.”
Bravo “goes above and beyond helping the client find a way through the complicated system.”
“Whenever I need help, I call Leticia for her expert recommendations. I called her about a case last week and I was very impressed by her wealth of knowledge and her ability to guide me through an appropriate case management. I’ve been in the field for 17 years and she always impresses me…”
Hussein “was very pleasant and answered all of my questions with the utmost courtesy and respect.”
“I can not express how much the assistance will help me, but more importantly, how much his humanity restored my faith that everything will be ok and soon I will be back on my feet.”
King and Aust were thanked for providing “the most helpful, courteous service that my husband and I have received.”
“These two women were so patient and kind in helping us with property transactions that were so complicated and frustrating to us.
I commend them and thank you for employing women who are so customer oriented.”
Nolan “captured the interest of the entire audience” at the Reuben H. Fleet Center’s Afternoon Scholars lecture.
“The audience loves to learn, as evidenced by the various questions you received. Thank you for taking the time to listen to each comment and answer every question. Without your generosity of time, expertise and good humor, we would not be able to offer the caliber of programming that we do.”
Cook received a thank you letter from an appreciative parent.
“I wish to express my gratitude for this great opportunity for my child through CCS, I am very glad indeed we have an agency to lean on, especially in our situation. Thank you very much and may God bless you and the agency for showing such compassion to everyone in need.”
Day was recognized for her “hard work and accomplishments that are a credit to the Department of Parks and Recreation, the County and the public.”
“Diane provided excellent internal customer service. She used state of the art equipment to create functional works of art. Diane went above and beyond to help with design ideas and logistics.”
