“Thank you for installing the “chirpers” (audible crossing signals) at the Woodside and Channel intersection in Lakeside for the benefit of the elderly that live near there. Your continued service and obvious care for our community is evident.”
“Rosalinda Nalos was very thorough and knowledgeable. She was on time and acted very professionally. She was able to answer all my questions and give me the names and numbers that I needed for other issues.”
“It was a pleasure working with Jennifer Alipio. Everything went smoothly and she was very helpful.”
“Clariza Arguelles was very approachable and helpful. I really appreciated her promptness and professionalism.”
Ramona Cervantes “was so patient and helpful. This is the first time that I have rented a house in San Diego as a Section 8 tenant, so I had a lot of questions. Ms. Cervantes answered all of my questions with a smile and at the end of my appointment I left your office with a big smile too.”
Another client wrote to Inez Tejeda: “You are one of the best workers! We don’t need the Section 8 assistance anymore, but I wanted to thank you for all of your help. I hope we can pay it all back some day. God bless you always!”
“Karen Tolliver was very informative and polite. It was nice to feel respected by a government person. I want to thank her for that!”
Gurolla was thanked by a client who wrote, "I don't know what I would have done without your help. I know I am not the easiest person to deal with, especially under these circumstances. But you calmed me down and helped me through it. You acted as a liaison and guided me though the application process. Thank you so much.
Some who have worked in Social Services say its a thankless job. I can also imagine your position probably presents some challenges at times. But consider this; You were the voice of reason and helped me through a very difficult and scary time. You made a difference in my life. I am just one of the many people who has benefitted from your guidance, understanding, and expertise. Its probably seldom you hear a thank you, but know that you have helped people through some difficult times. You don't just push paper. You have made a difference in the lives of many.

Partch and Friday “were very professional and did a very good job helping the students to understand the issues facing San Diego County agriculture.”
“The demonstration provided by Jeremy and Friday was both entertaining and very informative. We were most impressed by the dog’s abilities and the impact she and Jeremy are having on agricultural security in the County. The presentation was wonderful.”
They were thanked “for their kind assistance” in identifying some ants whose bite was “unpleasantly painful.”
“I forgot to enclose a note with the ants that I sent you, but thankfully, you understood what I wanted. The existence of services such as yours adds to the quality of our lives here in San Diego.”
Longman and the staff were applauded for “a job well done.”
“His performance as an attorney and gentleman, as well as his concern for the public well-being and legal defense is above and beyond reproach. I hope that others will regard him as a role model for his superior conduct.”
Craig Maze “went out of his way to help me get my emergency medical authorization for my prenatal doctor appointment.
“I am very happy with this entire service. The employees are wonderful! These days it’s hard to find great, friendly and caring people. Even though he was busy, Craig helped me. Please tell all the workers that it shows they truly care about the people they help.”
Sheila Martinez “was very kind and helpful.
“I appreciate the way she treated me. I was going to mail all of my paperwork in and Sheila advised me that under the circumstances that it would be faster to make an appointment. She answered all of my questions and she showed great concern. She also had a great smile. It’s hard to find people like Sheila.”
Tanya Rowe “was extremely helpful and dealt with our case in a very professional manner. There were many difficulties regarding our case and she did all that she was capable of doing to meet our needs. She did all of this, even though she was not our case worker.”
Stearns and Wilson “went above and beyond what was required per the court appointment.”
“You took time out of your busy schedules to help a lowly indigent inmate like me. That goes to the heart of the Public Defenders’ creed. I just can’t thank you enough. You’ll never know what it truly means to me to even have a chance.”
“Thank you very much for being there to help my son continue to get his hearing aids. God Bless you all, everyone who works there. You all help so many people and work so hard to help our children. I am grateful for you and honor you.”
Kendrick was commended for his “professionalism and perseverance” in a difficult case involving lead contamination and an uncooperative and difficult neighbor.
“Several months ago, the owner of the property next door to me decided to scrape lead paint off of his house without taking the proper safety precautions. As a result, my property became contaminated. Mr. Kendrick issued a citation to my neighbor commanding abatement of the lead hazard. In the end, it took seven months to resolve the situation. Through the whole ordeal, Mr. Kendrick was professional and assertive. He made himself available to me and kept me apprised of the situation. He remained involved until my neighbor cleaned up his property. He even stopped by on his day off to monitor my neighbor’s cleanup. He is dedicated and committed to making hazardous situations safe for neighbors like me.”
Nelson and staff were appreciated by a customer for “always being helpful, efficient and pleasant; just everything that one expects, but seldom experiences these days.”
“This past spring I had a challenge which needed your guidance. On each visit I have made, from the various individuals at the reception area, to the staff and their promptness in reporting feedback, the County Vector Control personnel need to be highly commended."
Scaperotta was complimented by a landlord for who called “to express thanks and appreciation for the professional attitude Laura demonstrated in reviewing a rent increase request.”
“Although she did not rule in my favor, I was impressed with her communication style, calm demeanor and program knowledge and I was satisfied with the result.”
Mack and Odlum “are professional, kind and helpful with any and all questions that I have had.”
“I am so very thankful for these two employees of your Housing Administration. The Housing Assistance Program should be honored having workers like Felecia and Julie.”
Manzo “worked very long and hard hours with my landlord to negotiate a reasonable rent increase for me.”
“I owe Ms. Manzo for helping me keep my apartment. I don’t know how she did it, but she did it! If it wasn’t for Ms. Manzo, I would have lost my apartment and I would have been living on the street.”
Rash was gratefully acknowledged by the U. S. Consulate in Germany for the “invaluable assistance provided as we faced very unique circumstances when one of our colleagues passed away unexpectedly.”
“Your office understood and appreciated the gravity of our circumstances and provided an extraordinary response. Ms. Cindy Rash went well beyond the call of duty in addressing the complicated logistics of sending the necessary documentation to Frankfurt in an expeditious manner. We greatly appreciate the outstanding service and understanding that was extended to us as we worked to assist the family of a young man who died abroad while serving his country.”
Laudy was thanked for his quick assistance with a rush request.
“The podium graphic was perfect - I was even late getting it to Robert and it was done early. It looked so great that someone took it! I tried to find it after the event but it was nowhere to be found.”
Harrington “is a problem solver.”
“I have been struggling with a complex problem involving real estate in San Diego. All the County employees that I talked to were courteous and helpful, but one person deserves special recognition. Tom Harrington understood the issues and knew how to find the answers. He gathered information from other departments and when he had it all, he made the solution look simple. Tom’s professionalism was way beyond my expectations!”
Day received kudos for her excellent work on an evidence display for the DA’s office.
“I just wanted to compliment Diane Day on some displays she created for an attempted murder trial. She constructed them perfectly; they looked amazing and worked out great. She was very friendly and patiently explained what information she needed in order to create her masterpieces. I want to thank Carto for all the great work you produce for us here in El Cajon.”
Bolanos was thanked for “her attention and detection of problem sites.”
“It is good to know that we have some very dedicated people in public service.”
Thompson received a very nice thank you from a grateful mother.
“I didn’t even get through the door before he started saying ‘Guess what I did at therapy today!’ Thanks for believing in him and trying new things with him. Coming to the Vista MTU has been pleasant and refreshing after years of therapy. He loves coming to see you. He asks me ‘where am I going today?’ I tell him that after school he is going to therapy to see Marilyn – what does he say? Yeaaaaaaahhhhh!! Seriously, thank you. Who would have known that he would cry when he didn’t have therapy?”
