This year’s race will be even bigger and more exciting, according to Employee Wellness Coordinator William Erese. He promises many new and thrilling challenges.

There are again three levels of increasing difficulty. Level 1 and Level 3 will race on April 19 and Level 2 will line up to run the course on April 26. The races will be held at the County Operations Center. They start promptly at noon and teams traveling to the campus are encouraged to carpool and arrive at least 15 minutes early.

This year, the County is piloting a DiverseAbility Course for employees with disabilities on April 26. Interested participants will compete on a modified course on an individual basis. Those interested in racing in the modified course should register here.

“We were interested from the moment the Department of Human Resources approached us with the idea,” said Karen Brain, president of DiverseAbility ERG employee resource group. The County’s newest employee resource group is aimed at advancing awareness and inclusion for people with disabilities and their allies. “We are grateful and excited to collaborate with the Wellness team; it is a great opportunity for inclusion.”

All participants will earn bragging rights, competitor medals and other prizes for completion of the race.
