Professional Development: CSDFEA Hosts Admin Analyst Workshop

The County of San Diego Filipino-American Employee Association is bringing back the in-person Administrative Analyst Workshop at the Bonita-Sunnyside Library on July 14 from 10 a.m. to noon.

This workshop is designed to teach you more about the administrative analyst career path and demystify the recruitment process. Hear from current and prior administrative analysts. Stay afterwards for mixer! Light refreshments will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Free for current CSDFEA members and a $5 fee for non-members.

Sign Up for Co-Ed Volleyball Tournament

Update: Registration is now full for the first eight teams that officially enter for the Employee Wellness Program’s co-ed volleyball tournament.

The tournament will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 20 at the Spring Valley Teen Center/Gym, 838 Kempton St., Spring Valley, CA 91977.

Don’t Miss the Youth Symposium and Expo

the Southeastern Live Well CEnter will host the Youth Symposium and Expo on July 11.

Calling all teens, parents, guardians, teachers and those that work with youth: The Probation Department is hosting a Youth Symposium and Expo on July 11 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The event is an educational presentation and open to the public.    

 The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and District Attorney’s (DA) office will present the following topics:

  • Youth being targeted for drug smuggling.

  • Dangers of fentanyl

  • Internet safety for youth

After the presentation, the panel discussion will include representatives from Probation, Superior Court, DA Juvenile Division, and the Public Defender's Juvenile Division.

A Q&A session at the end of the panel discussion will provide an opportunity for attendees to ask questions. This will be a valuable opportunity for attendees to engage with the panelists and gain a deeper understanding of the topics presented.

The event will take place at the Southeastern Live Well Center, 5101 Market St., San Diego, CA 92114.

Score Padres Tickets in CECO Fundraiser

Take your friends and family out to the ball game for County Employees’ Charitable Organization’s annual “funraiser” at Petco Park. CECO is selling tickets to the Padres’ Aug. 12 game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. 

Tickets are $45, and a portion of every ticket sold will go directly back to the community. If you purchase tickets by July 19, you can save $5 per ticket. Don’t strike out. Get your tickets today

As a bonus at this game, the first 40,000 fans in attendance will receive a Tony Gwynn jersey. 

The event is open to all County employees, family and friends. It’s an easy and fun way to support CECO, which distributed more than $101,000 in grants to 58 local nonprofit programs and over $38,000 to County employees who were affected by floods earlier this year. All the funds come from employees and retirees, through payroll deductions or fundraisers like this.

County Recognizes Pride Month

County Recognizes Pride Month with Flag Raising Ceremony Outside County Administration Building.

The annual Pride Month flag-raising ceremony was held at the County Administration Center Tuesday evening. The event was cohosted by our LGBTQ&A Employee Resource Group, Chairwoman Nora Vargas and Supervisor Terra Lawson-Remer. It included the raising of a Pride Progress flag and lighting the County building with rainbow colors.
