CSDFEA Wants to Honor Your SHEroes

Do you have a female hero or “shero”? Nominate them to the County of San Diego Filipino-American Employees’ Association’s Sheroes program for Women’s History Month. 

CSDFEA explained that a shero is defined as “a woman admired or idealized for her courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities; a heroine.” A shero can be a family member, friend, teacher, coach, co-worker, mentor, community advocate, famous trailblazer, etc. 

Email CSDFEA your shero’s name, picture (optional) along with why she is your shero by March 22. Many nominees will be included in CSDFEA’s 2024 Women’s History Month Newsletter to be published at the end of March and on InSite. 

DCAO Ebony Shelton Shares Her Career Journey

Get to know Deputy Chief Administrative Officer/Chief Financial Officer Ebony Shelton.

Shelton joined the County in 1997 and has many positions in her career journey.  In this 9-minute video, she shared her perspective on public service, obstacles as an Afro-Latino woman, her commitment to creating an environment of belonging, understanding and checking our implicit biases, and her devotion to family.

See Who Won the 2024 March Madness Basketball Tournament

County workers got into the spirit of March Madness this weekend with the annual Employee Wellness’ basketball tournament. The friendly competition at the Spring Valley Teen Center/Gym promoted camaraderie, teamwork, and physical activity.
