A New Home for an Important Resource

Yellow_Workplace_1500px.jpg

The Diversity and Inclusion Executive Council recently shared next steps in the County’s efforts to integrate diversity, inclusion and equity into all we do, and a new hub on InSite homepage is another step in the County’s outreach. It’s a place where you can get resources about important topics from a variety of County sources: Office of Ethics and Compliance, Human Relations Commission, Office of Equity and Racial Justice, and the Department of Human Resources. Check back often to see the latest events, trainings, articles and other ways you can stay engaged.

To kick off the new feature, we’re presenting the Diversity and Inclusion annual report. The report highlights a spectrum of our accomplishments this year and points to the challenging yet exciting path ahead. Read the report.

CECO Survey Says…

The San Diego County Employees Charitable Organization (CECO) needs your feedback. CECO put together a short survey for employees to take through Oct. 31.

The survey will help CECO strategically design outreach and programming around what resonates among County employees with the hopes of garnering more support and interest in "lending a hand."

CECO is funded by the generosity of County of San Diego employees and retirees who lend a hand via biweekly payroll contributions, monthly or one-time donations, and/or volunteering in CECO events. 100% of raised funds get distributed to local nonprofits via grants and assisting community employees experiencing a financial crisis. Learn more about CECO.

Drop, Cover and Hold On for ShakeOut

County employees are encouraged to practice earthquake safety during the ShakeOut drill at 10:15 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 15. You may only have seconds to protect yourself during an earthquake. Be ready. Practice “drop, cover and hold on.”

Register for the ShakeOut drill at shakeout.org and download the SD County Emergency app.

Share a photo of yourself participating in ShakeOut or a photo that shows you have a personal disaster plan or emergency supplies kit. Send the photos to communications@sdcounty.ca.gov.
