Clerk of the Board

From Steve Canfield, Hallmark Escrow, regarding an employee at the Clerk of the Board:

"Today I was helped by Jocelyn, who went out of her way to completely figure out the problem. There were some plans without the correct signatures. She was so kind and helpful. Jocelyn took the time to call and speak with the client and fix the problem. I had to take the plans back to Newport Beach. Everything has worked out perfect because Jocelyn made sure it was done the right way."

Off-leash Dog Area at Live Oak Park

From Anne Richter, regarding the new off-leash dog park at Live Oak Park in Fallbrook:

"Just want to officially thank you for completing our off-leash dog area at Live Oak Park. The park looks great and the community will enjoy it for many years to come. It was interesting working with LOPC and the County and I've learned quite a bit about local politics. Jason, Jake and Tom, you were a pleasure to work with: keeping me informed with progress, asking for my opinion and always polite! Hope to see you at our beautiful new off leash area, and thanks again for making this dream come true. Arf."

Assessor/Recorder/County Clerk

From an anonymous customer regarding two employees at the ARCC:

"I know that 'customer service is the number one priority' of your office. You can be very proud of the terrific service and patient attention provided to me recently by Jeffrey Olson and Adriana Molina when I visited your office.

I was trying to work through what for me was an intimidating issue of applying for a transfer between parent and child property. Jeff and Adriana came to my rescue by explaining how the process works and very patiently guiding me through the steps. And they did so in a very caring and cheerful way.

Mr. Dronenburg, I just wanted to let you know how well I was treated by Jeff and Adriana.  They certainly exemplify the operating motto of your office: Customer Service is the #1 Priority.'"

Department of Planning & Development Services

From Alexandra Sink, engineering program manager for SolarCity, regarding online permitting from Planning & Devlopment Services:

"San Diego County is one of the fastest and easiest permitting jurisdictions that we deal with. Their online permitting system enables us to pull solar permits at no cost without having to leave our office, and often within 1-2 hours of submitting the application. The San Diego County building department is certainly a leader in the effort to streamline permitting and I hope more jurisdictions follow their example."

Medical Examiner

From "Steven," whose 90-year-old mother's death was handled by the Medical Examiner:

"Investigator (Lenore) Aldridge sat down with my family for quite some time. She asked us questions necessary for her investigation, and she personalized her investigation in such a manner that we felt confortable knowing that our mother was in good hands. We could all truly tell that Investigator Aldridge truly cared for her job, and performed in a manner that made the initial grieving much easier. She answered all our questions, allowed us to have copies of the notes my mother wrote to her family and provided us with material to help deal with the days to come. She was not only a wonderful example of the types of people in the ME's Office, but a fine example of a caring and sincere person."

Waterfront Park

From an anonymous resident regarding the Waterfront Park at the CAC:

"I've lived in San Diego 30 years and the new park at the downtown County Administration Building is definitely one of the most successful improvement projects that I'm aware of. Thank goodness someone had the vision to put the parking underground and a park at street level to make a huge gift and improvement to our waterfront! I work downtown and walk to the park every day at lunch and can't help but smile. There are always 100-plus kids enjoying the wonderful, creative water feature and many others having picnics and enjoying this amazing park. The change from the bleak parking lots is stunning! I know many people were involved in making this park a reality and I want to sincerely thank them for their foresight and efforts."

Staff at Heritage Park

From Jim J., to the Department of Parks and Recreation regarding the staff at Heritage Park:

"My daughter was married at Heritage Park on October 18, 2014 and I wanted to let you know what a great staff you have serving at Heritage Park. It was a pleasure to work with staff who were very accommodating and ensure that we were aware of all of the amentities as well as rules at the park. We made several trips during the wedding planning process and each time I had more questions and they were always helpful.

The day of the wedding, staff ensured everything was ready for our guests. I cannot tell you how much it meant to our family to know that staff was there to help us during this event. It is very apparent that staff cares for the people hosting events at the park."

Office of Emergency Services' Disaster Curriculum

From J. Michael Wilson, teacher at Benito Juarez Elementary, to Kim McDermott at the Office of Emergency Services regarding the newly released disaster curriculum for teachers:

"Dear Ms. McDermott, I went ahead and ordered off the website. It is nice to have such a thorough, detailed and well-planned resource that is immediately ready to use. Also, the Symbaloo site is phenomenal as well."

Agriculture, Weights and Measures

From Angela Friedl, regarding service provided by Ag, Weights and Measures:

"Thank you for your phone call regarding the complaint I submitted about being overcharged three times in the last few days at the Vons on Regents Road. I was astonished that you went there, as I thought my information would be lodged into a database! I had no idea about the Scanner Awareness Program. It's very beneficial and I think many people are served by it."

Air Pollution Control District

City of San Diego Councilmember Scott Sherman's office filed a complaint regarding odor from an asphalt plant in the Mission Gorge area. A County inspector went out and discovered the odor was the result of rubberized asphalt for a job in the City of Santee. The odor subsided once the job was complete. Riley Webb, a policy advisor for the district, sent this to the Air Pollution Control District:

"Aerio was great. Called me first thing this morning and then right after he was out there. Could not have asked for a better response from your department. It was much appreciated."
