McCracken “is the kind of public servant that is needed at every level of government.”
“Todd did an excellent job explaining things that I didn’t quite understand regarding my property tax assessment. He was friendly and not degrading or defensive, a man who did his job quite well. If there were more men like Todd, the government would likely save a lot of time and money because people would be helped to comprehend what is sometimes incomprehensible.”

“He was informative, pleasant and prompt. We were impressed how professional he was and how he seemed to really care about our situation. He talked to a few of our neighbors and patiently repeated all he’d just told us and proceeded to answer every question we all had. Hudson received compliments from a tenant for his great customer service.
“He was very polite and mannerly and checked everything in my apartment, that’s really important for our good and the owners. He answered all my questions in an understanding way. Of all the inspectors I’ve had, Mr. Hudson is outstanding in every way.”
Delgado was praised by an East County resident for following up on the road surface and shoulder berm work that he requested.
“I wanted to bring to the Board’s attention the outstanding work of those in the Department of Public Works, Transportation Division. Specifically, I want to commend Richard Delgado. Richard called me on several occasions giving me unsolicited updates on the progress of their work and ensuring the work met my expectations. I really appreciate this level of response and professionalism from the County.”
Guerra was thanked by a community manager for “restoring her weakening faith” in people.
“l can’t even imagine what your work load must be like these days. I want you to know how much I appreciate your dedication and hard work on behalf of the impoverished.”
They received several letters of appreciation for making this year’s Quail Botanical Gardens Insect Fair “the best ever!”

Gervais was honored by the Agricultural Commissioner for her “efforts in locating and securing an adequate facility for County business and saving the departments a significant amount of money.”
“Judy assisted AWM and the Farm & Home Advisor in moving from their leased facility in San Marcos to County-owned space that had been vacated by DPLU. Both departments were able to down-size their previous space needs with a better configuration in a newer building. Now they only pay operating costs to the County because the County owns the building."
Murphy “was courteous and helpful and made the process quick and painless.”

Mantes “was and is the most helpful, pleasant, kind and caring person ever!”

Quezada was commended for “her knowledge, professionalism and kindness” while assisting a customer who is quadriplegic obtain the death certificates for his parents.
“Mrs. Quezada was very sensitive to his needs and was very patient, as he was required to sign the papers with a ‘mark,’ but has no motion in his fingers. Her demeanor was both warm and professional, displaying recognition of the intelligence underlying his debilitating disease. With such a positive, humanizing experience, we both left the office praising County government for its efficiency and assistance to the public."
Vector Control was thanked by an East County resident for providing a break from the pesky mosquitoes that were tormenting their neighborhood.
“Thank you from Santee along the river area. We are feeling some relief!I am happy to comment on the great service we receive.”
The three were commended by the Director of Animal Services, Dawn Danielson, for making sure the animals at the Central Shelter are kept comfortable during the summer heat wave.
“We had our air conditioning unit (s) go out at our shelter here in San Diego. When I say go out – I mean big time. It’s a condenser that is big enough to cool 40 homes. Anyway, your staff is right on top of it and if the temp can’t be maintained in the animal wards until the new condenser comes in they plan on installing portable air conditioners. They are very concerned for the animals and checking all possibilities."
Cope "has such compassion and understanding. She wants to help us. I never felt ashamed and Gina reassured me wholeheartedly."
A Valley Center resident said Johnson provided her with “wonderful, helpful and informative advice on how to deal with my rat infestation."

The two earned accolades for their work in securing a 14.75-acre site for the future Rancho San Diego Sheriff’s station, a $2 million acquisition for the County which involved extensive geotechnical and CEQA work.
