Turn Your Exercise into Donated Meals

Live Well San Diego has partnered with an app called Vizer that allows you to turn your exercise time into donated meals to the San Diego Food Bank.

Sign up for the free app, sync your Fitbit, Apple Watch or smartphone to track your steps or exercise minutes, and then get moving! When you reach 30 minutes or 10,000 steps, a sponsor will donate a meal on your behalf to the San Diego Food Bank.

This month is Hunger Action Month and our goal is to get 25,000 meals donated for students with the campaign Steps for Students.

Fraud Alert for Employees

With the rise in unemployment claims, there has also been a rise in fraudulent unemployment claims filed using employees’ personal information including Social Security numbers. Scammers are illegally filing for unemployment in the name of other people in the hopes of cashing in on unemployment benefits.

You do not need to do anything at this time. However, if the Department of Human Resources believes that you have been a victim of this type of fraud, your departmental human resources officer will reach out to you.

It’s a good reminder to continue to be vigilant on protecting your personal information.

Participants will dedicate approximately 30 minutes each day on activities such as reading an article, watching a video, reflecting on personal experiences and more.

The challenge starts Sept. 14. Register now.
